Jock Hamilton is a construction lawyer with experience practising in firms in various states of Australia and England & Wales. He has worked at several of Australia’s largest law firms in their litigation, construction and insurance teams, focusing on civil construction, apartment towers and mixed-use commercial/residential buildings as well as a variety of infrastructure projects across road, rail, water and nuclear.

Jock holds tertiary qualifications in law and finance. He founded Hamilton Mott in 2021 to bring accessible legal services to Australia’s building and construction industries.

Milijana has joined Hamilton Mott remotely from Belgrade, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence in the field of law.

She is a graduate of the University of New South Wales, where she earned a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of International Studies with Distinction in 2017. Her dedication to academic excellence was recognised with her inclusion in The Dean’s List, where she ranked first in Alternative Dispute Resolution in Practice.

Following her graduation, Milijana honed her legal expertise through valuable experience working alongside our Principal, Jock Hamilton, at King & Wood Mallesons.

Milijana has joined Hamilton Mott remotely from Belgrade, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence in the field of law.

Snjezana Steele is a construction lawyer with an engineering degree, who has worked as a senior project manager and holds practical construction experience across the infrastructure, health, aged care, and heavy industry sectors.

Before joining Hamilton Mott as a Senior Associate, she practised at mid-tier firms where she acted in complex building disputes and advised on contract, dispute resolution and regulatory matters. Snjezana regularly represents developers, contractors, consultants and homeowners in proceedings across all NSW courts and tribunals, with a focus on security of payment, defective works, and contractual risk.

Richard’s unique blend of over 10 years in the construction industry as a Surveyor, combined with his legal acumen, makes him exceptionally equipped to navigate the intricacies of construction and commercial law.

With a strong background in construction, commercial law, disputes, and litigation, Richard brings a wealth of experience and a diverse skill set to our firm. Helay is a construction lawyer who holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Construction Management Studies from the University of Western Sydney, and was a member of The Academy for high achievers during this time. Helay was admitted to the New South Wales Supreme Court in 2023.

An asset to our team, Helay focuses on legal research, reviewing contracts and policies, attending court hearings and providing specialist advice on construction projects.

Helay is a construction lawyer who holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Construction Management Studies from the University of Western Sydney, and was a member of The Academy for high achievers during this time. Helay was admitted to the New South Wales Supreme Court in 2023.

Trish is our Practice Manager and is responsible for overseeing the non-legal operations of the firm. Trish has a Bachelor of Business and is a proven administrator. She provides invaluable assistance across a broad range of operational areas optimising support systems, enabling lawyers to focus on legal service delivery and our Principal to drive business growth.

Allegra joined Hamilton Mott as a Law Clerk in May 2023. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science) at the University of Sydney as a Dalyell Scholar.

Prior to commencing her studies, Allegra was awarded a Certificate of Excellence from the Law Society of Western Australia in 2021.

Allegra joined Hamilton Mott as a Law Clerk in May 2023. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science) at the University of Sydney as a Dalyell Scholar.

Hugh joined Hamilton Mott as a Law Clerk in January 2024. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Political Economy) at the University of Sydney as a Dalyell Scholar.

Lilian is in her third year of a double degree in Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Marketing and Media at Macquarie University. While still early in her journey as a Law Clerk, she brings a dedicated and enthusiastic approach to every task she undertakes. She is particularly eager to leverage her marketing background to enhance client experiences, while continuing to learn and grow within the construction law space.
